About the Artist My job as an artist is to communicate without words or sound, a feeling, an experience, or a personality. My becoming a sculptor evolved from an inner yearning during childhood to express myself using color, light and form. I have drawn and painted all of my life and still accept portrait or landscape commissions in oils, acrylics and gouache. But at forty-something I found my way to sculpting for bronze casting and a new craving to express myself was born. My art education has not been of the formal type, but rather an accumulation of life's experiences. Experiencing a diversity of life styles and having lived not always wisely, but ever fully, my hope is that the work I do, the cumulative expression of a particular piece, will touch the viewer at some level. My prayer each time I start a sculpture or painting is that somehow the best is brought out in you and me as we meet through this work, and that because of the encounter both our souls might grow just a little... in joy.
